Who We Serve: Pervious Pavement and Surface Cleaning for Municipalities, Parks and Property Owners

Triverus cleans and maintains pervious pavement, parking facilities and hard surfaces for cities, counties, parks departments, school districts, airports, HOAs, property managers, homeowners and the contractors who serve them. Public Works & Utilities crews in Pierce County and the City of Port Angeles, Seattle Parks Department and Monroe Public Works in Washington have all used Triverus technology, along with airports from Anchorage to Miami.

Hire our fully staffed cleaning crews, or buy the Municipal Cleaning Vehicle (MCV) and run it yourself. Either way you get high-pressure water cleaning with simultaneous vacuum recovery: no chemicals, and the pollutants go into our recovery tank instead of your storm drains. We serve Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, Oregon and California, with equipment in use nationwide.

Public Works & Stormwater Programs

  • Public Works Directors
  • Stormwater & MS4 Managers
  • Street & Utility Crews
  • City & County Fleets

Public works departments use Triverus for stormwater pollution prevention and pervious pavement maintenance on streets, sidewalks and municipal lots. High-pressure wash with simultaneous recovery lifts the fines, oils and heavy metals that conventional sweepers leave behind, keeping them out of storm drains, streams and lakes and supporting NPDES MS4 permit programs.

Public Works & Utilities crews in Pierce County and the City of Port Angeles, Washington, and Monroe Public Works have used Triverus surface cleaning. Agencies can hire our crews or buy the MCV, which is built on a chassis familiar to typical grounds and equipment maintenance facilities, with parts and service readily available. The MCV is also available through GSA contract.

Airports

  • Airport Authorities
  • Commercial Airports
  • Regional & Municipal Airports
  • Airport Parking
  • Aviation Maintenance Facilities

Triverus cleaning vehicles are used in airfield markets for airport ramp areas, airside loading bridge and terminal areas, walkways and enclosed parking structures. The MCV supports spill response, including fuel and glycol recovery, picks up FOD with optional front and rear FOD magnets, and is available through GSA contract #47QMCA18D000Q.

Aviation customers include the Miami-Dade County Aviation Department, the Metropolitan Airports Commission at Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport, and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.

Parking Facilities

  • Parking Garages
  • Parking Decks
  • Surface Lots
  • Park-and-Ride Lots
  • Transit Centers

Parking structures collect oil, grease, tire residue and sediment that should never reach the storm sewer. The MCV’s out-front cleaning platform reaches individual parking slots in an occupied garage and works up close to guardrails and columns, and its low overall height lets it work in almost any covered parking area while capturing the wash water on board.

Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport runs five MCVs to clean its parking garages, and the purchase saved MSP more than $4 million over rerouting the garage drainage system. The University of Wisconsin in Madison has also used Triverus for covered parking garage cleaning.

Parks & Recreation

  • City & County Parks
  • Trails & Greenways
  • Plazas & Public Spaces
  • Sports Courts
  • Recreation Centers

Pervious walking paths, trails, plazas, courts and park parking lots clog with leaves, mulch, soil and moss from the landscaping around them. Once the pores fill, water puddles and runs off instead of soaking in. Triverus restores infiltration with water only, no chemicals or soap.

Seattle Parks Department has used Triverus porous surface cleaning for stormwater and pollution abatement. The MCV is designed to fit on a conventional 5 ft sidewalk, so it reaches paths and walkways that larger equipment cannot.

Schools & Campuses

  • School Districts
  • Elementary & High Schools
  • Colleges & Universities
  • Community Colleges
  • Satellite Campuses

Campus parking lots, walkways and service yards see heavy daily use, and pervious installations on campus need routine maintenance to keep draining. Olympia School District’s Service Support Center in Olympia, Washington, is among our customers.

In 2019 the University of New Hampshire Stormwater Center independently tested the MCV on two failed porous asphalt lots in Durham, New Hampshire, and measured infiltration restored from 3 in/hr to 94 and 84 in/hr.

Leaves and debris clogging a pervious pavement strip along a residential street

HOAs & Property Managers

  • Homeowners Associations
  • Condominiums
  • Apartment Communities
  • Office Parks
  • Retail Centers

Pervious streets, parking lots and sidewalks are often installed as part of a development’s stormwater plan, and the HOA or property manager inherits the maintenance. Pervious surfaces cannot be maintained just like conventional pavement: sweeping alone leaves the pores clogged, leading to puddling, moss, freeze-thaw damage and more runoff.

Triverus provides fully staffed cleaning services, from routine maintenance to restoring surfaces that have stopped draining, and can provide documentation to support your stormwater management plan.

Contractors & Pavement Cleaners

  • Paving Contractors
  • Striping Contractors
  • Crack Sealing Crews
  • Pressure Washing Companies

Paving, striping and surface cleaning contractors can put the MCV to work for their own customers. Its jet spray cleans below grade and provides effective cleanout prior to crack sealing, and the recovery system retrieves virtually all spray water, promoting rapid drying during prepaint surface prep for better paint adherence.

The cleaning platform and recovery module come off the all-wheel steer carrier, so the same chassis can run brooms, snow blowers, plow blades and other attachments year-round. Two-day on-site operator training is available with each machine.

Permeable pavers before and after cleaning

Homeowners

  • Pervious Concrete
  • Porous Asphalt
  • Permeable Pavers

Pervious concrete driveways, porous asphalt and permeable paver patios lose their drainage as dirt and organic debris settle into the surface. Triverus cleaning lifts that material out of the pores and recovers it, restoring percolation without chemicals or soap solutions of any kind.

Homeowners can request a quote for restoring a clogged surface or for periodic maintenance cleaning.
